Job description

SUMMARY: The Service Department Intern will assist with daily business activities while gaining hands-on experience in parts inventory, customer service, ride-a longs, marketing, and basic equipment preparation and maintenance. This internship is designed to introduce students to the agricultural and heavy equipment industry through real-world learning opportunities in both office and shop environments.

 The intern will work alongside experienced team members to support daily operations, observe field and branch activities through supervised ride-a longs, assist with equipment readiness, and develop professional workplace skills in a structured and supervised environment at the assigned branch location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations:

  • Assist with cleaning, organizing, and preparing tractors and equipment for rental.
  • Support basic shop and maintenance activities under staff supervision.
  • Help organize, stock, and track parts inventory and supplies.
  • Assist with marketing activities, including social media content, equipment photos, and promotional materials.
  • Greet customers and provide general office and customer service support.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, office, and yard areas.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and workplace guidelines.
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanics, office staff, and management.
  • Perform general operational support duties as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

General Requirements:

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Strong willingness to learn and follow directions.
  • Positive attitude, dependable, and punctual.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with social media platforms preferred.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in the workplace.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Currently enrolled in high school.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Interest in agriculture, equipment, mechanics, marketing, or business operations preferred.
  • Must provide and maintain a valid school work permit.
