As the Accountant you will be responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer in planning and managing all phases of financial activities to include auditing, budgeting, cost reporting, billing, collections, accounts payable, cash receipts, pension plan accounting, grant management, contractual compliance and monitoring, financial reporting and presentations. Work is performed with a minimum of technical supervision and often requires initiative and independent judgment. This position currently supervises our Accounting Assistant position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists the CFO with organizing and directing the maintenance of the accounting system.
  • Conducts and coordinates program and fiscal reviews for compliance with funding requirements and internal controls under the direction of the CFO.
  • Assists the CFO in developing and maintaining budgeting systems that provide control of expenditures to include individual programs and consolidated budgets.
  • Monitors accounts payable, accounts receivables, and payroll records for appropriate processing and recording.
  • Prepares individual program and consolidated financial statements, invoices, and other reports for submission to external agencies and internal management.
  • Prepares specialized reports and completes specialized projects as requested by management.
  • Reconciles agency bank statements.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the CFO in keeping with our mission, vision and values.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent years of experience required.
    • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Two years' experience as an accountant or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of automated accounting systems, word processing programs and spreadsheet applications.
    • Experience in Medical/Dental/Behavioral Health billing preferred.
    • NextGen software experience preferred.
    • FQHC background is strongly preferred.

Proposed salary range: $67,728 to $84,230
