Job description

Position Title: Projects Coordinator - Rail, Heavy Cargo
Location: Greenpoint - Houston
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary - $70k to $90k depending on experience

Position Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator with Rail, Heavy Cargo experience to manage shipment coordination, milestone tracking, client/vendor communication, and ensure smooth project execution from booking to delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and hands-on knowledge of freight forwarding processes, documentation, and shipment coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate, Rail, Heavy Cargo shipments from origin to destination
Track shipment milestones and provide proactive status updates to customers and internal teams
Communicate with carriers, airlines, ocean lines, trucking partners, customs brokers, and overseas agents
Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation
Assist with booking, routing, scheduling, and shipment planning
Support customs clearance coordination and resolve shipment delays or exceptions
Maintain accurate records in TMS, ERP, or freight forwarding systems
Escalate and resolve operational issues quickly and professionally
Work closely with operations, sales, customer service, and warehouse teams
Ensure shipments are executed in compliance with customer requirements and company SOPs
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Intermodal, Rail, Heavy Cargo, Freight Forwarding, logistics, or project coordination
Strong understanding of shipment documentation and forwarding workflows
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with logistics systems such as CargoWise or similar platforms preferred
