WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Genesis is looking for an experienced Project Architect to help guide architectural design and documentation efforts across complex projects. In this role, you will collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, interior designers, subject matter experts, consultants, and external partners to deliver high-quality, coordinated project solutions from concept through construction documentation. You'll bring technical confidence, design curiosity, and a collaborative mindset to help support successful outcomes for our clients and project teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Operations
The Project Architect leads and supports the development of the project approach, methodology, and deliverables in collaboration with architectural project leads and multidisciplinary teams. This role is responsible for advancing design and technical excellence, coordinating complex project documentation, and helping ensure high-quality deliverables throughout all phases of a project.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Lead design development from concept through construction documentation for assigned project scopes.
  • Lead technical coordination across architecture, interiors, engineering disciplines, consultants, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Develop and review coordinated project documents for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with relevant building codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Resolve design and documentation issues proactively while balancing schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and external team members under the direction of the architectural project leader to support integrated project delivery.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs), coordinating with the Project Architect as appropriate.
  • Participate in field site visits and develop associated follow-up documentation, including field reports and punch lists.
  • Apply best practices and procedures to create strong project solutions through an integrated design approach.
  • Support QA/QC reviews and help identify opportunities to improve project delivery, productivity, profitability, and outcomes.
  • Mentor junior designers or staff in documentation standards, design process, coordination practices, and project workflows.
  • Utilize Revit and other advanced design and documentation tools to enhance coordination, quality, and project outcomes.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent projects or project phases while maintaining quality, schedule, and communication expectations.

Client-Facing
  • Represent the design team in client meetings, presentations, and coordination sessions.
  • Translate client goals into practical, code-compliant, and visually strong design solutions.
  • Communicate design intent clearly to clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Build trusted client relationships through responsiveness, technical competence, and consistent follow-through.
  • Support project leads in managing client expectations around scope, schedule, deliverables, and design decisions.
  • Prepare and present design concepts, documentation updates, and project recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client service and future project relationships.

Strategic
  • Advance design quality, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across project work.
  • Contribute to standards, workflows, and best practices that improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Use advanced design and documentation tools to improve coordination, decision-making, and project outcomes.
  • Help identify lessons learned from completed projects and apply them to future work.
  • Support business development through strong project delivery, client service, and technical credibility.
  • Model Genesis' mission and values through collaboration, accountability, and high-quality work.
  • Contribute to a culture of mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and integrated design excellence.

Minimum QualificationsA A
  • BS in Architecture, BArch, or MArch is required.
  • Completion of Professional Licensure is strongly preferred
  • 7-10+ years of experience in a Project Architect/Designer role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing architectural design concepts through construction documentation.
  • Experience coordinating architectural work with internal disciplines, external consultants, regulatory requirements, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs, and participating in field site visits and follow-up documentation.
  • Knowledge of Revit software required; experience with advanced design or documentation software preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite software.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • A team approach and positive attitude.
