Job description

SMX is seeking Project/Task Managers (Mid/Senior) supporting the design and implementation of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure, applications, and services in support of enterprise cloud migration and mission-critical systems for the United States Air Force. The Project Task Lead must be a skilled cloud and IT leader with strong agile project management, security, and compliance expertise, capable of driving specific Cloud One Next workstreams while supporting the Air Force's enterprise cloud transformation. Performs day-to-day management of cloud delivery order projects. Organizes, directs, and coordinates the planning and production of all activities associated with assigned delivery order projects. Defines cloud project scope and objectives, including developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, status reports, and project and financial tracking and analysis. Conducts project meetings, tracks project tasks, and ensures quality standards. Provides technical and strategic guidance to the cloud project team and reviews project deliverables. Communicates with PM, tech leads, and other stakeholders as issues arise or for awareness as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams through execution of enterprise cloud initiatives across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Kubernetes-based platforms within DoD environments
  • Manage project scope, status, schedule, budget, resources, risk, and deliverables in alignment with contract requirements and government expectations
  • Organize, assign, and track IT technical development tickets (i.e. JIRA/Confluence)
  • Communicate with team, leads, and PM project status through reporting and meetings internally, externally, and to government management
  • Prepare documentation and briefs on project status, budget, schedules, etc. for presentation to customers and management
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and integration patterns
  • Experience with cloud transformation methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of cloud security protocols to protect data and systems

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's and 4 -7 years project management experience for mid-level and 9 years for senior-level
  • Active Security Clearance Required: Secret
  • 4+ years of related IT/cloud management experience
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and hybrid DoD delivery models; familiar with sprint planning, PI planning, backlogs, adhocs, and releases
  • Must be able to interact with government clients, peers, management, and tech leads in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Strong written, analytical, organizational, presentation, customer service, and facilitation skills

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience supporting United States Air Force cloud programs (AWS Govcloud)
  • Experience with ServiceNow (or similar) implementations and delivery
  • PM or Scrum Master certification(s)
  • DoD 8570 compliant certification: CompTia Sec+
