Annual base salary range for this position may be CA80,000 to CA95,000, depending on experience and fit. 

THE COST ACCOUNTANT - OPERATIONAL OPPORTUNITY 
Turner Construction's Toronto office is seeking a full-time Cost Accountant. The role requires availability to work on-site or at the head office, Monday to Friday, for 40 hours per week, and will report to the Senior Financial Analyst.

Position Description: Provide comprehensive financialadministration, perform accounting and cost analysis, and provide fiscalmanagement and cost guidance for assigned projects in support of regulatingfiscal compliance with company policies and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
Provide financial analytical support that drive strategicoutcomes for assigned projects (project size may vary and may have multipleproject assignments) and implement financial procedures, including complexcontract types and joint ventures.

Partner with Operations team to review project budgetsaccurately and properly reflects risk and potential enhancements in line withowner contract and Turner policies and procedures.

Communicate and escalate project risks to project seniorleadership and supervisors.
Understand clientcontractual requirements, monitor billing and accounts receivables asappropriate, and address or escalate issues.

Implement and maintain financial internal controlsafeguards for assigned projects.
Laise with and provide guidance to project Operations andTurner Shared Services (TSS) teams to maximize accounting support includingestablishing structures for Project Financial launch during project setup,manage Accounts Payables (AP) for vendors' and subcontractors' invoiceprocessing (as appropriate) and aligned with proper sales and use tax reportingrequirements, and oversee month-end close processes and/or post or accrueclient bills and project costs as appropriate.
Monitor and understand project cash position, assessproject financial risks, and work with project senior leadership and team toimplement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance profitability.
Oversee project assets and rentals for proper insurancedocumentation in collaboration with project team.
Prepare financial analyses, informational reports, andspecial analysis to validate financial outcomes of assigned projects.
Accumulate, audit, and correlate information to producerequired cost reports, including Budget Analysis Reports (BARs) andCost-Audited BARs (CABs).
Analyze project forecasts and re-forecasted projections toconfirm accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
Support projectfinancial closeout to secure final contract amounts and meet closeoutdocumentation requirements.

Participate and support with internal andexternal audit requests.
Attend and participate in on-site meetings, OperationsReview Meetings (ORMs), budget reviews, and forecasting sessions.
Provide oversight of work and mentor junior accountingstaff to develop skills and learn cost processes as applicable.
