Opal Foods is currently searching for an Assistant Director of Pullets. This new position will provide operational assistance to the Director of Pullets and be based out of our Neosho, MO.Role Description/SummaryThe purpose of this role is to provide operational assistance to the Director of Pullets by leading projects, operational programs, data analysis/assessment, or any other assignment as provided by the Director of Pullets. This position will also provide coverage for Managers during times of absence, vacancies, or time off. At times this position may be called on at the direction of the Director of Pullets to provide coaching and performance or process improvement activities.Essential Job Functions â€“ Must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.Work with the Director of Pullets in determining goals and parameters needed to improve Pullet operations.Assist with the implementation of flock schedules and rotations activities.Implement programs provided by the contract veterinarians and chick suppliers to improve pullet health, growth, and development.Make recommendations to the Pullet Manager on investments needed at Pullet, Moving Crew, and Vaccination operations.Work with Managers and locations on adherence to standards and programs including worker safety, animal welfare, and operational standard operating practices.Observe, report, and assist in holding operations team members accountable for results and celebrating team and individual successes.Constantly look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organizational goals.Collect and review data related to Pullet, Moving Crew, and Vaccination operations to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Ensure maintenance programs are effective in maintaining equipment and facilities.Must have ability to travel on a very regular basis on short notice.Other duties and projects as needed to support operational objectives or as assigned.Required Qualifications â€“ Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesHigh School Diploma or equivalent.5 plus years’ progressive experience in pullets, egg production, egg processing or related fields.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English.Preferred Qualifications â€“ Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesBachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, relevant course of study.Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in Spanish.About Opal Foods: Opal Foods was formed in 2014 and is a partnership between Rose Acre Farms and Weaver Brothers.
