Leadership Profile The successful candidate will be an autonomous, hands-on construction leader who combines technical depth with business judgment, urgency, integrity, cultural intelligence, and a firm-but-fair leadership style. This person must solve problems decisively, develop the team, and protect the client relationship without sacrificing project control.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination may be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership of at least one commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, hospitality, or comparable vertical project valued at $100 million or more.
  • High-rise construction experience strongly preferred, ideally involving a project of approximately 30 stories or more.
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish, including the ability to lead owner meetings and contractual or financial discussions in both languages.
  • Experience working with international owners, developers, investors, or executive stakeholders strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, scheduling, estimating, procurement, contracts, change management, risk mitigation, forecasting, and closeout.
  • Proficiency with construction management platforms, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office; proven experience supervising PMs and APMs.
  • Strong executive presence, judgment, communication skills, and willingness to work full-time on-site in the Miami area.
Key Responsibilities Project Execution
  • Lead the project from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safe, profitable, high-quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Direct Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers across contracts, submittals, RFIs, procurement, scheduling, financial reporting, and closeout.
  • Oversee prequalification, bid evaluation, scope development, subcontractor selection, buyout, and procurement.
  • Own the baseline and critical-path schedule, monitor impacts, and take immediate action when performance or procurement creates delay risk.
  • Maintain accurate project controls and ensure timely resolution of quality deficiencies and closeout requirements.
Financial, Contract, and Risk Management
  • Protect project margin and cash flow through disciplined forecasting, billing, cost-to-complete reporting, and subcontractor payment controls.
  • Manage contracts, notices, change orders, field directives, allowances, backcharges, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate scope, schedule, insurance, bonding, lien, safety, and subcontractor-performance risks before they affect project outcomes.
Client and Team Leadership
  • Serve as the principal owner-facing leader, maintaining proactive, no-surprises communication and professionally leading OAC and executive meetings.
  • Build productive owner and subcontractor relationships through a firm-but-fair, organized, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Coach and develop project personnel while establishing clear standards for accountability, urgency, professionalism, safety, and client service.
Why This Opportunity This is an opportunity to take true ownership of a career-defining Miami project with direct executive visibility, meaningful decision-making authority, stable leadership, and a strong repeat-client foundation.
