Job description

The Project Manager will manage a team of personnel assigned to an implementation, upgrade, or similar type of project. Depending on project size and scope, the Project Manager may be assigned multiple projects to manage.   The Project Manager will be accountable for project deliverables, timeline, and budget. Several keys to this role include creating and maintaining a project plan, working with managers to estimate work effort and allocate resources, and delivering excellent customer service by building a strong and effective working relationship with the customer.  This role is Hybrid and will collaborate at least three (3) days per week in Tampa.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to PMO organization project strategy and data analytics, adopts best practices for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Develops, updates, and actively manages a comprehensive project plan, including (but not limited to) tasks, start and end dates, work effort, resource assignments, milestones, and critical path.
  • Accountable for the successful completion of a project's deliverables using PMO standards and methods to deliver results.
  • Actively leads all facets of the project, including planning, execution and customer engagement. 
  • Manages project scope and changes in accordance with change control procedures, actively maintains RAID logs and other critical documentation to ensure that project activities are aligned with the scope of services outlined in the project agreement or services SOW.
  • Drives collaboration between functional and technical teams (including configuration, data / integrations, configuration, clinical, development, and other SMEs) and customers to achieve milestones and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with PMO managers and other key members of Professional Services leadership to secure resources for a project.
  • Serve as a primary point of escalation for both client and internal stakeholders, communicate risks proactively and manage associated expectations to ensure alignment across parties in problem solving. 
  • Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates meetings and onsite activities - ensures that agendas, notes, and action items are captured as well as distributed to relevant stakeholders for awareness and follow through.
  • Documentation and reporting on all project matters in a timely fashion.
  • Manages resource bookings, time entry, and other administrative tasks associated with successful billing and workforce planning for assigned projects.
  • Adopts organizational best practices for process, documentation, use of systems, or any other relevant job functions, as directed by PMO or Professional Services management
  • Drafts Statement of Work (SOW) or Change Request (CR) as appropriate.
  • Build and grow trust organically as a product advisor by proving ongoing value through accountability, communication and transparency, while providing tailored solutions aligned to each client's goals and use cases.  Consistency creates reliability and the client's success is MHK's success.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, related field or commensurate experience required. 
  • PMI certification (PMP) - preferred  

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a project manager in healthcare, healthcare insurance, healthcare consulting, software (SaaS) industry, or relevant technical consulting field - required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project - required. Working knowledge of the healthcare industry (Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial) and understanding of related compliance and quality aspects - preferred.
  • Experienced in project governance, capacity planning, and project budgeting.
  • Self-starter, with strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through, and a passion for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient technical understanding: ability to demonstrate knowledge of software development life cycle, application design, integration, and hosting technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, organizational, and written skills.
  • Experience with practical application of Project Management Institute (PMI) global standards.
  • Professional knowledge of integrations, data, sprint planning, QA preparedness and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to delivery verbal presentations to small groups.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position will collaborate hybrid three (3) days per week in our Tampa office. 
  • Ability to travel to client sites as necessary (20% or less, as a matter of routine).
  • Ability to work across all US time zones, as required.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to pass a background check and drug screening.
