Construction Project Manager - Nashville, TN

Pilot Companies, LLC owns and operates over 30 Wingstop Restaurants in Texas and Tennessee. Its affiliated company, FTM Construction, LLC is an established yet growing commercial general contractor specializing in fast-casual restaurant buildouts. We are searching for a driven individual who can manage several projects in various stages simultaneously, while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality.
The Construction Project Manager plays a critical role in achieving Pilot Companies’ annual and long-term growth plans. Reporting directly to the Sr. Construction Manager, the position is primarily responsible for overseeing the successful completion and turnover of new restaurants.

***This position must be located in the Middle Tennessee and surrounding area***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage up to 4 projects at varying stages of development in the construction of restaurants to meet time and budget commitments.
  • Conduct weekly NRO update calls to coordinate across all departments involved (i.e., Operations, HR, etc.)
  • Manage equipment ordering, delivery, and coordinate installation process.
  • Manage all vendor bids and scheduling (i.e., signage, low voltage, etc.).
  • Manage permitting and inspection process to ensure all proper approvals and licenses have been received.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and schedules, including looking for ways to reduce costs and improve quality of work.
  • Travel within specific region and/or for specific meetings expected.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality standards and timely completion of work obligations.
  • Work with landlords throughout the process to ensure construction design standards and lease terms are accurately delivered.
  • Coordinate with Sr. Construction Manager, Account Manager, and Operations Director to ensure efficient and smooth turnover following the completion of the project.
  • Present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether orally or in writing

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail store, restaurant development, construction, and restaurant operations.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and engineered drawings.
  • Experience in relevant field in architecture, design, construction management, or engineering.
  • Experience overseeing 10 or more projects with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Excellent written and oral communication, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Supervisory skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, including the ability to apply good judgement and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction terminology, materials, blueprints, and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and restaurant operations.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the company.
  • Highly organized, attentive to details, and efficient with time and resources.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
