Job description

Summary

The Project Manager owns the full-life-cycle delivery of the systems sold and installed by Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc., from order handoff through commissioning and close-out, under the guidance of the Director of Project Management & Engineering. The Project Manager leads on-site project teams and manages budgets, schedules, vendor relationships, and quality while serving as the primary point of contact for the client. The Project Manager works closely with sales, engineering, and suppliers to deliver each project on time, on budget, and to specification.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Manage a portfolio of complex projects that may span one or multiple product lines.
  • Lead and motivate on-site project teams to meet goals, responsibilities, milestones, and deliverables across the full project life cycle, from initiation through commissioning.
  • Coordinate internal planning meetings with sales and engineering to fully understand the product or solution that was sold.
  • Prepare detailed project plans and estimates covering all phases, and manage schedules and contract engagements.
  • Collaborate with clients to align on project specifications, and consistently present project schedules, status reports, and close-out documentation and training.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, bids, contracts, and financial performance.
  • Oversee delivery and quality control by reviewing materials, products, and equipment, and sourcing replacements as needed to meet specifications.
  • Provide guidance on product design changes and workspace layout modifications to optimize quality and operational efficiency, with oversight from sales and engineering.
  • Manage project risks, changes, communications, external vendor relationships, resource allocation, and issue resolution to ensure successful delivery.
  • Maintain project status in a centralized system so all stakeholders share a common understanding of key milestones.
  • Ensure personnel representing the company follow company and customer guidelines as defined in the company and contractor handbook.
  • Improve and maintain project management standards and templates.
  • Conduct post-mortems when appropriate and update the project management approach accordingly.
  • Conduct work as a field service technician as required.
  • Support additional activities as required, including tradeshow setup and other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent project management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, including scheduling, tracking, and budget management.
  • Knowledge of dust collection, air cleaning, ventilation, or ducting systems preferred.
  • Comfortable working across multiple business systems.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to customer and project sites as required (Travel Expectation: Up to 50%).
  • Able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in active job-site conditions when supporting field work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
