We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team!

SUMMARY OF POSITION:ย 

ย 

Under the general guidance of the Project Management Director, this positionโ€™s role is to carry out planning, documentation, communication and coordination for designated NPD projects and programs along with internal Maysteel projects. ย The Project Manager will work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely implementation of new product introductions, existing product transfers, or other related projects, that comply with the requirements in accordance with schedule, quality standards, and financial health.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

ย 

  1. Act as leader for the project team making sure that time, risks, costs and quality are all tracked appropriately & ensure project resources are utilized efficiently.
  2. Plan and oversee implementation of projects, to ensure project scoping achieves critical business metrics (cost, quality, timing โ€“ delivery) and they are completed on or before identified milestones.
  3. Act as the main liaison between internal company personnel and customers for the purpose of information flow.ย  This includes attending and facilitating project meetings as required, as well as supporting production in coordinating material needs and scheduling to achieve build / ship milestones.
  4. Responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, monitor/control, close) and ensure projects fall within scope.
  5. Coordinate new projects or programs through project completion (either product or task specific).
  6. Help field day to day questions, comments, and concerns from active projects.
  7. Manage project trackers and timelines when applicable and manage accordingly using project management developed tool set from PM Director.
  8. Help maintain the file management structure for the entire project management directory
  9. Coordinate communication with all key stakeholders. Communicate project teamโ€™s progress to Director of Project Management for Executive level reporting awareness.
  10. Present during critical project stages and deliver on-time completion of projects globally across plant sites.
  11. Follows Project Management policies and guidelines in support of Maysteelโ€™s NPD Stage-Gate Process.
  12. Coordinates, contributes, and validates Stage-Gate specific deliverables as directed.
  13. Ability to build and guide effective teams.
  14. Perform other related project management activities as requested.
  15. Regular travel based on project requirements is likely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:ย 

ย 

  • Minimum an undergraduate degree preferred in Business Administration, Engineering or Manufacturing, with five to seven years of related experience in a manufacturing atmosphere (sheet metal environment is preferred); or โ€œequivalent experienceโ€.
  • Must possess significant experience within manufacturing or operations within new product introduction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects in line with customer requirements
  • Proficient level knowledge of project management methodologies is required
  • Contains some further level of project management certification; Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly desirable
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoftโ€™s Office Productivity Suite is required
  • Superior communication, teamwork, and presentation skills are required
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required

This position reports directly to the Project Management Director.ย  The position has no direct reports.
