The Project Manager works collaboratively with Operations departments and staff to conduct project management and business process management under the Office of Operating Officer. Responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects that meet requirement for scope, cost, time, and quality. Provides direction and coordination and ensures adherence to project management principles in work performed. Represents the Executive Director and provides leadership with direction for special projects that have organizational or operational impact.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of all special projects from initial ideation through to completion on behalf of the Executive Director.
- Plans, coordinates, and manages project activities, schedules, and assignments to meet project scope and requirements until final deliverable has been achieved and accepted.
- Establishes schedules and check-ins with key team members to deliver projects on time and ensure appropriate monitoring of project performance to deliver projects within budget and with desired outcomes.
- Tracks and maintains project plans and schedules in order to provide regular reports on project status to project team, key stakeholders, and leadership.
- Consults, advises, and makes recommendations to leadership for adjusting programs, projects and initiatives based on project development.
- Proactively monitors, develops, and implements standard operating procedures for the Department staff.
- Represents the Executive Director in various meetings as required. Documents and follows up on important action items and meeting decisions.
- Prepares or leads necessary correspondence, reports, summaries, documents, and presentation materials for the department area of responsibility.
- Assists in the development of strategic program initiatives.
- Validates project progress, health, risks, and challenges prior to presenting to leadership for decision making.
- Monitors and controls data quality, workflow, and usage of Computerized Maintenance Management System as applicable.
- Performs and supports all school readiness activities to ensure schools are ready for opening.
- Serves as liaison and meets with and may address a variety of groups, including staff, school administrators, and internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Executive Director regarding projects

Desired Qualifications
- Unless expressly stated otherwise with respect to the qualifications indicated in the position description, City Schools reserves the right to consider other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution.
- Three years project management with successful, timely deliverables, and positive outcomes required.
- Understands project management concepts and practices. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred or ability to obtain PMP certification.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills to ensure effective coordination and team building throughout Operations.
- Proficient skill in the use of technical computer applications, including electronic databases, case management systems, and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to conduct research into project issues as required, and to present ideas in business and user-friendly language.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and proven ability to handle numerouspriorities at the same time.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with all lebelsof management to accomplish project objectives.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to quickly analyze problems and recommend workable solutions.
- Proven ability to exercise discretion and judgement in highly complexand confidential matters.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders, school, and district staff, faculty, students, consultants, and contractors at all levels.
- Proficient in the collection analysis and reporting of project deliverables.
- Valid class C non commercial drivers.

In accordance with Maryland law, City School is required to share the position salary ranges in its entirety. Please note, this is not the hiring range. The hiring range for this position is ($82,651 - $108,655)
