As Project Manager, Commercial Operations, you will lead and manage strategic projects for Commercial Operations within the Innovations and Analytics team, including projects delivered by the Data and Analytics CoE and other Commercial Operations initiatives that drive digital transformation, analytics adoption, and process innovation. This role ensures successful delivery of projects by applying best-in-class project management practices, fostering collaboration across business and technical teams, and aligning outcomes with organizational goals.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Project Leadership: Plan, execute, and deliver Commercial Operation and Data Analytics CoE initiatives to include Salesforce development projects on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage with CoE team, franchise and region business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to define requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the CoE and other internal/external project teams for project progress and delivery.
  • Project Delivery: Apply agile, predictive and/or hybrid methodologies and tools to manage iterative development, testing, and deployment cycles.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Track project performance using KPIs and dashboards; provide clear and actionable status updates to leadership.
  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for automation, analytics, and process optimization within Commercial Operations and the Data Analytics CoE.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for project delivery.
  • Change Management: Support adoption of new tools and processes through effective communication and training strategies.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to company policies, data governance, and security standards.

What you can bring to Alcon:

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

5 Years of Relevant Experience

Project Management certification (i.e., PMP, PMI-ACP, CPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PPM, CSM, CSPO)

Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher

Preferred: Salesforce Administrator or Developer certification

Preferred: Systems Thinking Standards Institute Yellow Belt

Minimum Work Experience

Must have foundational knowledge of MS Suite, and MS Visio; Jira, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.

Experience working with analytics teams.

Preferred: 2+ years managing Salesforce or CRM-related projects.

Preferred: Experience with analytics platforms, data visualization tools, and digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable (e.g., Tableau, MS PowerBI, SQL, Python, AWS).

Preferred: Experience working in healthcare or pharmaceuticals.
