Are you a motivated project professional with a passion for delivering complex projects safely, on time, and within budget? We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Workforce Housing Major Projects team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step in their project management career and contribute to high-impact projects across Canada. This is an in-office role based in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Major Projects & PMC, the Project Manager will be responsible for supporting and managing various aspects of project execution-from planning and coordination to delivery while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal and external teams through all project stages.
  • Conduct subcontractors buy-out meetings to manage risk and ensure quality.
  • Provide clear direction and foster strong working relationships.
  • Conducts thorough reviews of contracts, budgets, drawings, and scopes of work; develops detailed pre-mobilization execution plans and realistic project schedules to ensure successful delivery.
  • Leads the negotiation, selection, and contracting of subcontractors; issues field purchase orders and ensures full execution of scope with appropriate risk and quality coverage.
  • Maintain continuous communication with clients, subcontractors, and authorities to address issues, resolve deficiencies, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Tracks project costs and forecasts monthly; maintains accurate accounting and project documentation in line with QMS procedures; ensures adherence to HSE and QA standards.
  • Regularly visits project sites for kickoff and progress meetings; delivers comprehensive close-out reports detailing final costs and variances from initial bids.
  • Champion a culture of safety and quality across all project phases and ensure compliance with ATCO's HSE policies and procedures. Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.
  • Manage scope changes and contract amendments.
  • Ensure a positive client experience from start to finish.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other tasks assigned.

Who You Are: 

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical diploma, P.Eng, C.E.T, C.Tech, P.Tech, or R.E.T. Preferred.
  • 3-7 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
  • Experience managing contracts (small, mid and large size)
  • Familiarity with contract negotiations, estimating, and financial planning.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, building rapport and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, ProCore, and Aconex.
  • Comfortable travelling to remote project sites.
