Job Summary:
This role supports Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH) aimed at accelerating improvement efforts associated with the hospital's Environment of Care and Patient Satisfaction. It is an entry level role that is ideal for those wanting to gain experience in hospital operations and seeking a career path leading to hospital administration. The role will interface with all clinical and operational areas of the hospital and VUMC System support departments, under the direction of VUH Senior Leadership.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years' experience in project management
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in pursuit of Masters (MBA and or MHA) with a career emphasis in Hospital Administration

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Makes frequent rounds of the facility to inspect for cleanliness, order, and any areas of facilities improvement
  • Oversees the creation, coordination and execution of projects
  • Plans, develops, and executes ongoing program(s) that impacts the organization under occasional guidance
  • Recommends and implements new and/or modified programs, services and policies and procedures
  • Meets with hospital department managers and service line administration (Segment structure) to reviewing findings and ensure that the departments are exemplifying all aspects of top percentile environment of care performance
  • Interfaces with the departments of Patient Experience, Infection Prevention, Clinical Research and Safety, Facilities Management to accomplish unit and overall hospital goals
  • Occasional rounding on patients and/or management of service recovery initiatives to ensure patient satisfaction
