Job Summary:

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing every step of the construction process, from planning to completion, while ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget, along with managing equipment and materials required on multiple projects.

Duties/Responsibilities Accountable for:

  • Ensures all work on site is installed per project scope while adhering to industry standard means and methods as well as jurisdiction code and compliance, quality, and safety.
  • Performs material take off.
  • Coordinates with jurisdiction utilities companies and inspectors.

Responsible For:

  • Requests purchase orders.
  • Performs job walk with inspector.
  • Trains Apprentices.
  • Trains Laborers.
  • Trains Foreman.
  • Trains Journeyman.
  • Manages all field people, processes, and tools.
  • Ensures field personnel have the appropriate tools to complete the project.
  • Performs owner's training.
  • Evaluates construction methods and determines the cost-effectiveness of plans and actual work.
  • Verifies all field personnel have appropriate safety and equipment training certifications.
  • Delegates project manpower.
  • Provides technical information to the Project Manager for RFI's, change orders, submittals, operation and maintenance manuals, etc.
  • Maintains awareness of project budget and identifies cost savings.
  • Determines and communicates all necessary project permit needs.
  • Fosters relationships with General Contractors, Owners, and Stakeholders.
  • Facilitates site logistics to include ordering and tracking conxes, water, heavy equipment, safety, access, parking, etc.
  • Communicates task progress, coordination, site logistics, and safety with the General Contractor.
  • Communicates task completion for inspection scheduling.
  • Attends project meetings to include Kick-off, Coordination (internal and external), weekly subcontractor on-site, post-job, and project review meetings.
  • Acts to document and communicate the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites to the Jet Management team.
  • Plans all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Supervises field crews.
  • Ensures field personnel complete and submit project forms on time.
  • Procures project equipment and materials per the project scope and schedule.
  • Coordinates constructability and compatibility with other trades and building systems to include multi-discipline overlays.
  • Reviews and prices project documents for changes such as bid drawings, ASI’s, etc. per contract documents and timelines.
  • Documents job walks with project status photos.
  • Regularly visits projects to assess performance, safety, progress, and quality to ensure connectivity with the field, clients, and other trades.
  • Attends design meetings.
  • Inventories and manages all equipment, materials, and supplies for construction on the job site.
  • Ensures all safety and environmental policies of the company and project owners are followed by all project personnel.
  • Communicates project manpower needs with the Jet Management team.
  • Coordinates project activities across multiple teams and ensures that project deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Maintains a daily accounting for work completed in coordination with the project schedule and scope.
  • Responsible for maintaining the project schedule.
  • Monitors project risks and develops contingency plans for mitigation.
  • Tracks project labor hours/budgets.
  • Tracks project material budgets.
  • Attends corporate project status meetings.
  • Ensures field personnel have the appropriate installation equipment and materials to complete the project.
  • Schedules inspections.
  • Ensures field personnel have the appropriate documentation to complete the project.
  • Reviews and tracks project schedules to include scheduled tasks/durations for Jet trades as well as General Contractor and other trades.
