Job description

Benefits:

Summary of Position:

The Project Manager II independently manages moderately complex customer engagements end-to-end, serving as the primary delivery owner and client relationship manager across multiple concurrent projects. This role exercises independent judgment on scope, budget, risk, and resource decisions, and may directly supervise Project Coordinators and/or junior Project Managers. The PM II builds lasting client relationships, proactively manages escalations, and drives continuous improvement within the delivery team.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary client point of contact across multiple concurrent projects, owning the full delivery relationship from kickoff through closeout
  • Independently translate client Statements of Work, Letters of Intent, and work orders into project plans, deliverables, and milestones
  • Develop,maintain, and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk registers
  • Exercise independent discretion in managing project scope, budget (including spend-to-date, forecasted spend, and burn rate), and resource allocation
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams including cross-functional internal resources and client stakeholders
  • Directly supervise and provide performance direction to Project Coordinators and, where applicable, junior Project Managers
  • Proactively manage client escalations, change orders, and evolving expectations to protect delivery outcomes
  • Create andmaintainproject controls: action item lists, risk logs, issue logs, change control, and decision logs
  • Act as the primary point of communication for all project-level stakeholder updates, milestone reporting, and issue escalation
  • Ensure billing accuracy by reviewing project financials prior to invoicing
  • Drive structured project and operations meetings; ensure clear decisions and action items are documented and communicated
  • Apply learnings from prior engagements to continuously improve delivery practices and client outcomes
  • Responsible for all aspects of direct report HR activities including hiring, performance management, and development planning

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office and warehouse setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.
