Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fleet  Mechanic to maintain our fleet maintenance while supporting our rapid response and restoration services. The Fleet Operations Lead Mechanic will play a critical role in the upkept and readiness of our fleet of vehicles, equipment, and assets to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance and maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities:
  • Fleet Maintenance:
  • Regularly review preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are being maintained according to schedule
  • Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
  • Addresses all identified maintenance needs in an efficient manner while ensuring compliance with maintenance reporting requirements
  • Oversees and leads the emergency response maintenance and repairs as needed
 
  • Asset Availability & Utilization:
  • Ensure repairs are efficiently addressed to maintain asset availability for projects, jobs, and emergency responses.
  • Analyze asset data to identify opportunities for optimization, including right-sizing the fleet, improving asset utilization, and minimizing downtime.
  • Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and programs to extend the lifespan of fleet assets and reduce maintenance costs.
 
  • Equipment Safety and Compliance:
  • Assist in enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe operation of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Participate in regular safety training and inspections, addressing any safety concerns or violations promptly.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including vehicle inspections, emissions testing, and driver licensing.
 
  • Emergency Response Support:
  • Assist in deploying fleet assets and personnel rapidly in response to emergencies and power outages.
  • Assist to ensure the readiness and availability of fleet resources during emergency situations.
  • Oversees and efficiently utilizes emergency mechanical support to ensure any mechanical opportunities are effectively addressed. 
Qualifications:
  • Certifications in commercial fleet maintenance, as well as a minimum of 5 years proven fleet maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules, hands-on experience in diesel engine and/or heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and safety compliance.
  • Excellent communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CDL Preferred
$20 - $30 an hour
