Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major course work in business, management or like experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of project management experience, preferably in an educational or public sector environment.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, software, and methodologies. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and business application software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Summary
Under general direction, the Assistant Project Manager provides support to all of the Offices within the Allentown School District Central Office and across our school communities. This role is responsible for assisting with project management tasks, accountability of completion, events and marketing. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with staff across offices and schools to ensure smooth execution of projects and events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of multiple projects across all of the Offices of the Central Office and our School Communities.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Monitor project budgets and assist in managing resources efficiently.
  • Assist with the organization and execution of district-wide events, meetings, and celebrations, ensuring logistical needs are met.
  • Ensure effective documentation and tracking of project progress and outcomes.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, booking venues, and arranging accommodations as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for event planning and ensure contracts and agreements are properly executed.
  • Provide support in identifying risks, troubleshooting issues, and proposing solutions to ensure the success of projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of project-related communication and documentation.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
