Job Description
Location: Erie Tool Shop
Direct Report: Tooling Director
1. Purpose:
  • a. Oversee internal & external projects through planning, execution, and completion.

2. Responsibilities: including but not limited to
  • a. Use caution and support systems to assure a safety event free facility
  • b. Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures
  • c. Observe, respond, and report to any instance of product, service, or quality systems non conformance
  • d. Security diligence: maintain control of keycards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Amcor employees, and proper maintenance / security of Amcor equipment
  • e. Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training

3. Authorities: including but not limited to
  • a. Pause activity and notify safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices
  • b. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity of product, service, or quality systems
  • c. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
  • d. Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions

4. Primary Duties: including but not limited to:
  • a. Maintain and manage quoting systems to ensure quote accuracy, version control, pricing consistency, and timely responses to customer requests.
  • b. Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand project requirements, technical specifications, timelines, deliverables, and overall expectations.
  • c. Develop quotes and project estimates using historical performance data while working closely with job leaders, department managers, engineering, tooling, and production teams.
  • d. Define project scope and objectives at project launch and ensure work progresses according to customer requirements, budget, and operational capabilities.
  • e. Develop, communicate, and maintain project timelines with key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • f. Monitor project progress through each phase of manufacturing, proactively identifying risks, delays, and resource constraints to maintain schedule adherence.
  • g. Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving by coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve production, tooling, quality, scheduling, or customer-related issues.
  • h. Manage project budgets and costs by monitoring labor, materials, tooling, and other project expenses to support profitability and financial objectives.
  • i. Maintain ongoing communication with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project, providing status updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring expectations are met.
  • j. Analyze project performance upon completion by reviewing timelines, costs, quality metrics, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in future projects.

5. Qualifications / Education Required:
  • a. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Project Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • b. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to organize, analyze, and communicate project information effectively.
  • c. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, production personnel, and leadership.
  • d. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional manufacturing and project teams.

6. Preferred Skills / Experience
  • a. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and make sound business recommendations.
  • b. Experience in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to production processes, tooling, quality systems, or project coordination.
  • c. Ability and willingness to travel as required to support customer meetings, suppliers, or project activities.
