Job Description Construction Project Manager Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Open to Remote) Duration: 24 Month Contract Job Summary Responsible for the completion of capital natural gas construction projects across Michigan. Uses project management methods to coordinate project activities including defining scope of work, scheduling and estimating. Uses formal project management methods to identify and coordinate project team activities including defining scope of work, scheduling, estimating and engineering.

Oversees cost management, change control, and project close-out documentation. Key Accountabilities Develops project scope and coordinates a team of specialists who provide project schedule, cost estimates and engineering specifications for capital projects. Ensures the completion of engineering, design, installation, testing, commissioning into service and project closeout.

Responsible for project expenditures and the cost-effective procurement of labor, equipment and materials, coordinates with authorized company representatives in conducting bid meetings and reviews, supplier selections and evaluations, determines contracting strategy congruent with labor utilization strategies. Supports daily management of on-site construction activities, working with contractors and service providers, including timely completion of work within approved budget. Responsible for meeting key performance metrics including scope, schedule, and budget for projects and/or programs.

Communicates project status to all stakeholders and engages appropriate stakeholders in decisions to ensure a clear understanding of direction and expectations. Interfaces with internal organizations, plants, suppliers, trade labor organizations (unions), etc. May support contract administration services for blanket orders or other subcontractors and vendors.

Evaluates conditions and consults on solutions to control project risk. Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements. Completes documentation and record keeping requirements.

Weekly construction site visits to assigned projects. Expected to work in office Tuesday to Thursday. Offices are located in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Big Rapids.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following three options: A master's or bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, construction management, project management, or business/management, along with a minimum of six years of experience in project management. Experience with EMS or CYME and electrical engineering. Other Qualifications Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Natural Gas design or construction project management experience Road right of way design or construction project management experience Operations experience in the Utility industry Have ability to travel to project sites across greater Michigan Other Qualifications Knowledge of PC & computer-based scheduling and financial tools, including (e.g Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Primavera, MS Project, SAP & Maximo) Communications (written & verbal): creates reports, designs, and conducts presentations at all levels of the Corporation
