Job description

Job Summary The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout. This role oversees all aspects of project execution, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, procurement, and stakeholder communication, ensuring projects are completed successfully and aligned with company objectives. The Construction Project Manager provides leadership throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with contractors, consultants, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to drive project performance, resolve challenges, and achieve successful outcomes. This position also plays a key role in strengthening the people, processes, and systems that support the organizationโ€™s construction program. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This role is designed for an experienced construction professional who can successfully manage complex projects today while developing into a broader leadership role within the Construction Group over time. This position is expected to contribute beyond individual project execution by helping strengthen the Construction Groupโ€™s processes, standards, reporting, and team capabilities. The successful candidate should be able to lead through influence, mentor others, improve project delivery practices, and develop into broader management responsibility over time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from initial concept through project closeout.
  • Manage all phases of project delivery, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, permitting, design coordination, construction, and occupancy.
  • Provide leadership to project teams by establishing clear expectations, promoting accountability, and removing obstacles to project success.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules; monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Review and negotiate proposals, contracts, change orders, and consultant agreements.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors, consultants, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address issues related to safety, quality, cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status, risks, constraints, and key decisions to stakeholders.
  • Support site selection, due diligence, zoning, permitting, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, contract requirements, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, meeting minutes, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documents.
  • Support estimating, budgeting, and pre-construction planning efforts.
  • Assist in developing and mentoring team members while contributing to the growth and effectiveness of the Construction Group.
  • Support workload planning, prioritization, and resource coordination across the team.
  • Serve as a leadership resource for other project managers, coordinators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Help strengthen the companyโ€™s construction program by developing consistent project standards, improving delivery processes, supporting contractor and vendor strategy, and identifying scalable practices that improve project execution across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company objectives and operational needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of progressive construction project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project delivery processes, permitting, contracts, and building systems.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, purchase orders, and order management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project scheduling software and construction management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar design and document management software preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executives, customers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and commitment to project documentation and closeout.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing changing priorities.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.
  • Ability to respond to project demands, after-hours activities, and critical project milestones as required.
  • Demonstrated ability or strong potential to mentor, develop, and lead team members in a growing construction organization.
