Job description

Supply Chain Intern

Position Summary

At FALK Panel, we build more than insulated metal panels—we build efficient, reliable operations that support our customers and production teams every day. The Supply Chain Intern will be part of a structured, project-based internship designed to provide real, hands-on experience across our end-to-end supply chain.

This is an in-person role, working directly alongside our procurement, operations, and warehouse teams.

The intern will take ownership of one major project and two smaller projects focused on improving processes, increasing data visibility, and driving operational efficiency. In addition to project work, the intern will be actively involved in day-to-day supply chain activities, gaining practical insight into how materials move from suppliers through our facilities to support production.

Key Responsibilities

Project Work (Primary Focus)

  • Lead and complete one (1) major supply chain project aligned with business priorities (e.g., process improvement, cost reduction, inventory optimization, or system enhancements).
  • Complete two (2) minor projects addressing targeted operational or analytical needs.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data using company tools and systems.
  • Present project findings, recommendations, and actionable implementation plans to supply chain leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and warehouse teams to understand processes and validate solutions.

Operational Exposure & Support

  • Support daily procurement activities, including sourcing, purchase order creation, and supplier communication.
  • Assist with inbound logistics by scheduling deliveries, tracking shipments, and helping resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, inventory management, and material flow.
  • Gain exposure to vendor management, pricing, and supply planning.
  • Help maintain accurate master data (items, vendors, pricing).
  • Support reporting and analysis related to purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.

Learning Objectives

  • Build a strong, practical understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop analytical and problem-solving skills through real business challenges.
  • Understand how sourcing, procurement, logistics, and warehousing work together to support production.
  • Strengthen professional communication and presentation skills in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in manufacturing, building products, or industrial operations.

Deliverables

  • Completion of one (1) major project with documented analysis, recommendations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Completion of two (2) minor projects with summarized findings.
  • Final presentation to leadership outlining project results and key takeaways.
  • Documentation of processes reviewed, and improvement opportunities identified.
