The delivery of Information Technology to the AtkinsRealis Group of companies is via a function called IT Services which is organised as a global operation with significant presence in Canada, India and the UK. IT Services has developed an operating model to revolutionise the way IT services are provided to the company, moving from a 'Business as Usual' focus to an organisation driven by Business Value. Key concepts include transitioning to digital products, adopting agile delivery approaches across the organisation, leveraging cloud services, and applying focus to supporting company project bids and delivery.


The Project Manager will be part of the IT PMO team and provide management of complex projects and initiatives across IT Towers. You will be part of a dynamic fast-paced team delivering exemplary customer experience to our end users by ensuring repeatable and predictable delivery within scope, time, budget, and quality. You will manage the delivery of value-based IT solutions through active participation and collaboration with cross-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership. Through practical and pragmatic application of project management disciplines, you will help eliminate non-value adding bureaucracy, ensure customers are provided with timely outputs and outcomes that deliver value, and demonstrate how professional project management benefits the organisation.


Your role
  • Manage projects across various domains of IT and support the delivery of the integrated IT services portfolio roadmap
  • Ensure practical and pragmatic application of delivery approaches, compliant with established methodologies and best practices
  • Negotiate resources required for project delivery teams both internally and from partnered organisations
  • Work closely with customers and assist with the creation of business cases for projects and ensure project objectives, scope and deliverables and clearly defined, outlined, understood and agreed to by project governance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders
  • Lead, coach and mentor cross-functional project teams
  • Managecross-disciplinaryteams to ensure progress and delivery of products in accordance with agreed timescales,quality,processes and procedures
  • Interface with and manage outsourced and service partners to ensure best value solutions are delivered across the organisation adhering to the IT PMO best practices
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively, facilitate stakeholder meetings and manage expectations
  • Work with the business change management team to develop plans and strategies to minimise disruption
  • Promote a culture that encourages multi-skilled development of team members, with a specific focus on all aspects relating to an IT organisation
  • Contribute to the team initiatives such as strategy formulation and innovation

About you

Essential:

  • Attained an appropriate level of project management practitioner level qualification and/or can demonstrate extensive application of formal project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches
  • Clearly evidenced track record of successful Applications project delivery, in an IT environment, through the application of project management principles, methods, techniques and tools from initiation through to implementation
  • Working knowledge and application of techniques including business case preparation, requirements management, planning, risk and issue management, change control, configuration management and Information Assurance
  • Ability to quickly gain high-level understanding of new technology and development processes
  • Experience of budget and cost management and control
  • Well-rounded individual who will create a highly effective project team delivering value to our customers
  • Have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive delivery at speed
  • Be able to demonstrate breadth and depth knowledge in products and services associated within Technical Services: Oracle OCI -EBS -Oracle Fusion- Workday- integrations between, systems and applications, Reporting and analytics tools, procurement applications implementation , other corporate applications)
  • Appreciation of user-experience, business and commercial issues is a must
  • Provide leadership through a proactive can-do attitude
  • Inquisitive and adopts a creative approach to their work
  • Coach and mentor team members to maximise their potential
  • Well-developed interpersonal and business stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate, clearly and succinctly, at all levels from technical though to senior management and Group Executives

  • Occasional travel to other offices, potentially overseas is a requirement of this role
