Job description

Position Overview:

A leading construction firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Project Executive to lead large-scale multifamily projects of 90+ units from preconstruction through completion. This is a high-level leadership position for an experienced construction professional who can manage the overall financial and operational performance of a project while leading a Project Manager and broader project team.

This individual will have significant ownership of the project, including P&L responsibility, preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, contract management, client relationships, and overall project execution.


The position also offers a clear path into a full Project Executive role, with opportunities to oversee multiple projects and contribute to business development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead large multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Oversee projects typically consisting of 90+ residential units
  • Manage and mentor a Project Manager and project team
  • Maintain overall responsibility for project P&L, budgets, financial performance, and profitability
  • Lead preconstruction activities including budgeting, estimating, value engineering, scheduling, and subcontractor procurement
  • Establish and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution strategies
  • Manage contracts, change orders, subcontracts, and risk
  • Work closely with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address financial, schedule, and construction challenges
  • Provide leadership and oversight on additional projects when operating in a Project Executive capacity
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Participate in business development, client outreach, and pursuit of new opportunities
  • Support company leadership with project strategy, staffing, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience, with significant multifamily experience
  • Proven experience managing large-scale multifamily projects, ideally 90+ units
  • Experience taking projects from preconstruction through construction and closeout
  • Strong understanding of construction financials, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
  • Previous experience managing and mentoring Project Managers
  • Strong contract, subcontract, scheduling, and risk-management skills
  • Excellent communication and client-management abilities
  • Experience working with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with business development or client relationship management is a plus
  • Proficiency with construction technology such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
