Job description

The Project Engineer is a direct-hire position working at the HGA office in the Charlotte, NC region.
The Project Engineer performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations under the supervision of a Project Manager. The Project Engineer provides technical management assistance on projects. Assist in budgeting, man powering, scheduling, and forecasting projects as directed by a Project Manager. Manage small projects or certain aspects within large projects/programs with minimum supervision of a Project Manager.
โ€ข Participate in the planning and implementation of projects
โ€ข Assists in defining project scopes, goals, and deliverables
โ€ข Assists in defining project tasks and resource requirements
โ€ข Assists in developing full scale project plans
โ€ข Assemble and coordinate project staff for specific tasks
โ€ข Manage small project or task budgets
โ€ข Manage project resource allocation for assigned tasks
โ€ข Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines
โ€ข Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and report to Project Manager
โ€ข Provide limited direction and support to project team
โ€ข Quality assurance
โ€ข Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project/assigned tasks
โ€ข Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions

Requirements:
Project Engineer Qualifications:
โ€ข BS degree in an Engineering field (i.e., Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or Management)
โ€ข 3+ years of relevant experience in an industrial facility is required; prior structured capital project development/execution and/or construction experience is preferred
โ€ข Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred.
โ€ข Good writing and communication skills; excellent Computer Skills.
โ€ข Candidates must be able to travel as needed to client locations, and be able to actively work within all areas of client industrial facilities.
โ€ข Candidates should be within daily commuting distance of the Charlotte, NC region.
