Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure & Transportation Practice that is primarily focused on multi-modal transportation and infrastructure projects in Madison, WI, Appleton, WI or Milwaukee, Wi. The candidate will work on various projects and act as a member of the infrastructure team and will get an opportunity to work on a wide-range of projects involving safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, Transit, highway design, design review and construction oversight.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
  • Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects from conceptual design to final design.
  • Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including MicroStation and OpenRoads.
  • Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and highway design.
  • Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
  • Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects.
  • Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance/technical measures and specifications. This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities.
  • Assists in preparing and developing proposals, presentations, reports, and studies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • This position will also have the opportunity to work on CTA's transformative Red Line Extension Design-Build project over the next few years.

What your experience looks like
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering required. Preferably in civil, transportation engineering.
  • 4+ plus years of experience.
  • Licensed PE in the State of Wisconsin
  • In depth knowledge of MicroStation, Open Roads, and Civil3D.
  • Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
