About the role
McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Project Engineer position at the Plover, WI plant. This role leads the development, design, and execution of capital engineering projects supporting plant operations, expansions, and new technologies. The position works within a matrix organization to deliver safe, efficient project start-ups and long-term operational improvements.
What you'll be doing
  • Lead capital engineering projects from scope definition through installation, startup, and handover while meeting budget and schedule expectations
  • Oversee equipment and system design reviews, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and safety principles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external contractors to drive projects from concept to launch
  • Develop capital justifications and REAs; manage bids, procurement coordination, supplier engagement, and site visits
  • Support continuous improvement through new process technologies, technical problem resolution, and documentation management

What you'll need to be successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical) or equivalent experience
  • Up to five (5) years of engineering experience preferred, ideally in food manufacturing or processing
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and influencing skills in a matrix environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and standard business software
  • Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills with willingness to travel (35-45%)

  • Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, or crawling

Compensation Package : $85,500.00 - $114,000.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
