Meyer Contracting is seeking qualified applicants for a Project Engineer - Estimating position on our team.

Team Meyer is a civil/sitework contractor based out of Maple Grove, MN who performs Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, Concrete Structures and Foundations operations primarily in the greater Midwest area. Meyer is unique in that we work in both the public and private commercial civil markets. Employees here gain broad and valuable experience in both markets.   • Assist the estimating team with the preparation of project estimates and competitive bid submissions
  • Accurately perform quantity take-offs on cost estimates under the direction of an Estimator or Project Manager
  • Solicit and follow up with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing
  • Organize bid documents, subcontractor quotes, and supplier information
  • Assist in preparing bid packages for submission
  • Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work
  • Maintain accurate subcontractor and vendor information for bidding
  • Assist Project Managers with project setup, budgets, purchase orders, and project documentation following project award
  • Coordinate project information between the estimating, project management, and field teams
  • Perform field work including site visits, measurements, photos, and observations as directed
  • Maintain accurate estimating and project records
  • Self-manage and prioritize daily activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 0-3 years' experience preferred
  • Associate Degree or Technical Certificate with relevant construction experience will be considered
  • Experience in construction software such as: Bluebeam, Agtek, HCSS, AutoCAD, or MS Project is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Perform tasks in a detailed and organized manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong plan reading and mathematical skills
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
What We Offer:

The salary range offered is $68,000 - $78,000 along with benefits which include medical, dental, paid time off, paid holidays, and retirement plan (401k) with company employer contribution. Ancillary benefits, such as life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, accident insurance, cancer insurance, legal shield and ID shield are also available.
