Job Purpose/Summary:

The Project Engineer will focus on project engineering, management, and construction completion, ensuring the successful execution of Plains' capital expansion program. This role will lead smaller scale projects.

The selected candidate will be eligible for company benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off (PTO), and Free Parking.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads all aspects of the project management process including scope development, cost, and schedule, contracting strategy, contractor bid and award, procurement, construction, documentation, and close-out.

  • Implements detailed work plans, manages time and resources to meet project deadlines.

  • Defines project risks and seeks guidance (when necessary) to meet delivery goals.

  • Reviews the work of others against quality standards and recommends changes as needed.

  • Collaborates with operating locations in planning project execution; engage stakeholders.

  • Oversees field implementation for assigned projects, as appropriate.

  • Responds to routine and/or standard requests from internal and/or external clients/partners.

  • Manages contractor performance, adherence to Plains' policies and specifications, and minimization of change orders.

  • Resolves design and construction conflicts, drive project performance.

  • Collaborates in project reviews to ensure project execution plans are based upon sound engineering principles.

  • Ensures concepts, costs and time schedules are well developed, and projects will accomplish the stated objectives.

  • Prepares, administers, and monitors project budgets and schedules.

  • Initiates, reviews, and negotiates project change orders.

  • Uses existing procedures to solve routine problems; asks questions and reviews data to determine the root cause.

  • Develops and issues project reports as needed for both internal and external distribution.

  • Ensures the maintenance of detailed records of project activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Mechanical or Civil focus preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple projects perform highly detailed work under changing, intensive deadlines

  • Aptitude for analyzing and solving complex problems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to influence for results

  • Basic knowledge using programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Teams, and Outlook; Microsoft Visio a plus but not required

  • Experience with a pipeline company is a plus

  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks

  • Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
