Summaryย 

The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the drywall and steel stud framing construction activities to ensure all materials, layout, and details are by the project plans and specifications.ย  As a Project Manager, you should have a full understanding of the project(s) that are being managed by your team.ย  This ensures that all designated project goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame.ย ย ย 

Essential Functionsย 

Preconstruction/Estimating/Salesย 

  • Maintain and build relationships in their designated market.ย 

  • Estimating knowledge in the drywall/steel stud and metal framing space.ย ย ย 

  • Full review of the contract with the Senior Project Manager before submitting it to the Senior Leadership Team for sign-off.ย ย 

  • Lead pre-construction meetings to ensure everyone involved in the project understands the complete scope while ensuring safety, quality and productions are being met.ย 

  • Weekly job walks to ensure monitoring of job site activities.ย ย ย 

  • Maintain strong knowledge of project(s).ย ย 

  • Build a collaborative and open relationship with the Senior Project Manager.ย 

Production/Executionย 

  • Have a full understanding of the scope of work to identify potential risks of scope gaps.ย 

  • Regular management of resources that impact the financials of the project(s).ย 

  • Maintain and management of all change orders.ย ย 

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all pertinent information is provided and understood; proactive communication with field leaders on bid productions and other preconstruction-related info and maintains consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.ย ย ย 

  • Review WIP and billing.ย ย 

  • Coordinate with project team and client to obtain final payment and open change orders 30 days before job completion and obtain final payment within 60 days of job completion.ย ย 

Experience and Qualificationsย 

Minimum Qualificationsย 

  • Experience as a Project Engineer or related role.ย ย 

  • Commercial steel stud construction project management background.ย 

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex construction documents i.e., blueprints.ย 

  • Extensive knowledge of document editing software i.e., BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Plan Grid.ย 

  • Estimating experience utilizing OST/QuickBid to evaluate and price changes to contract documents.ย 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and customers.ย 

  • Basic presentation skills to represent information and updates in a group setting.ย 

  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook, Mac iPad.ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย ย 

  • Technical degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in the construction field; or an equivalent mix of education and field experience.ย ย 

  • Team player mentality.ย ย ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree; Construction Management.ย 

  • Detail-oriented, deadline/goal-driven.ย 

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.ย 

  • Direct Drywall/Steel Stud framing industry (Estimating and Project Management) experience.ย 

Sedentary Workย 

  • Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 - 15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying.ย 

  • Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.ย 

  • Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.ย 

Travelย 

  • Up to 20% primarily in their designated Market.ย 

  • Ability to complete regular day travel for site visits and client meetings.ย
