Job description

The Project Engineer is responsible for equipment design, development, maintenance, record keeping and purchasing. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting production through work order requests;
  • Developing and maintaining CADD drawings of existing and upcoming projects;
  • Maintaining capital project purchasing records;
  • Maintaining good working relationships with vendors;
  • Management and coordination outside vendors associated with project and plant improvements;
  • Assisting in resolving vendor quality and performance problems;
  • Working closely with outside fabricators to ensure projects are done to the specifications of ES;
  • Ensuring scales are maintained and calibrated as required

The Project Engineer is responsible for Food Safety and will enforce GMPs, maintain a sanitary work environment, and ensure that products are produced to meet and comply with applicable specifications, food quality and safety requirements, and existing laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings.
  • Capital and plant operations(maintenance) project management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements of OSHA, FDA & EPA
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Preferred)

Preferred (but not required):

  • Safety and process hazard analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean, 6S, and TPM fundamentals
  • 6 Years experience in Process Engineering within a food, chemical or beverage processing environment
  • Experience with sifting, cleaning, sterilization, milling, mixing and packaging equipment
