General Responsibilities Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Senior Project Director will provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for capital programs, construction services, and assigned programs in assigned region(s). The Senior Project Director serves as a leader and resource for CSG statewide, ESD 112 Business and HR staff, School Districts' Board of Directors, architects, engineers, construction industry professionals, and vendors. The Senior Project Director will provide client school districts with assistance in planning and constructing new or modernized school facilities and provide management of assigned CSG programs statewide.
The Senior Project Director will oversee and deliver Project Constructability Reviews and Value Engineering Studies. The Senior Project Director will provide statewide CSG Team Leaders with both strategic and technical support as warranted for the successful completion of assigned projects. Salary: The full salary range for this position is $153,367.61 - $184,804.60. Offers are made at the beginning of the range. Effective 09/01/2026, the salary range will be $157,355.17 - $189,609.52

Provide strategic leadership, oversight, and support to CSG Team Leaders and personnel statewide throughout all phases of capital programs and projects; from planning through construction and closeout, ensuring consistency, accountability, professional development, and successful project delivery. Serve as the senior owner's representative for any assigned school districts, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise.
Assist CSG Team Leaders with School District pre-bond planning efforts including capital planning, budget development, scheduling, and funding strategy coordination, including OSPI-related processes. Provide strategic planning and direction to CSG personnel leading the design phase activities to ensure coordination, constructability, budget alignment, and adherence to project goals. Assist CSG Team Leaders with oversight and the procurement of architects, engineers, and contractors; including development of solicitation documents, participation in selection processes and any required contract negotiations support.
Support CSG Team Leaders and other CSG personnel to ensure projects are delivered within established scope budget, and schedule constraints; identify risks and assist CSG Teams with the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies. Develop and implement policies, procedures, templates, best practices, and performance improvement initiatives in partnership with CSG Team Leaders to standardize service delivery, enhance operational effectiveness, and continuously improve project management practices statewide. Oversee Capital Project program-level financial performance including multi-project budgets, forecasting, and reporting.
Work collaboratively with ESD leadership, school districts, OSPI, contractors, consultants, and public agencies to ensure successful project delivery. Lead and support organizational strategic planning and business development efforts, including client outreach and proposal development working directly with CSG Team Leaders. Provide interpretation and direction regarding applicable local, state, and federal regulations impacting capital projects.
Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Other Functions: Provide CSG Team Leaders support as it relates to Project decision-making, direction on complex program & design elements, and construction issues. Act as a consistent resource to CSG Team Leaders regarding complex technical, financial, and administrative issues, pre-construction and construction administration.
Assist CSG Team Leaders in development of training materials and internal program improvements. Respond to CSG Team Leader project challenges, disputes, and stakeholder concerns in a professional and timely manner. Prepare written materials including correpsondence, reports, budgets, and schedules.
Assist other personnel as required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment. Other duties as assigned. Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field and 10 years of Capital Project/Construction Management experience including progressively responsible, direct management experience performing duties related to degree areas.
Experience leading large, complex capital projects or programs in the K-12 sector with individual project budgets exceeding $50 million and capital programs exceeding $300 million. Experience leading the design, construction and closeout process from concept to completion with individual projects of at least 100,000 SF. Experience leading Constructability reviews and Value Engineering Studies.
Preferred Qualifications: 15 years of experience in K-12 capital project management. Demonstrated senior level skills in project management and all facets of public-sector construction. PMP Certification or LEED AP Certification.
Experience working for an ESD, regional service agency or government organization that provides services to school districts or educational organizations. Working Conditions/Employment Requirements Working Conditions: Required to travel throughout all of Washington State. Extended or flexible hours as necessary.
