Job Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Land Development Project Manager to join our growing team in Virginia Beach, VA. If you're passionate about civil engineering, client success, and mentoring future talent, we want to hear from you. As a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of exciting land development projects from concept through construction.

We assist our clients with zoning entitlements, civil site plan approvals, and construction administration support.  Our project engineers will typically work in a team of 2-3 design engineers and a project manager to bring our client's vision to life.  The complexity and fast paced nature of our client's needs creates a dynamic environment for our team members and fosters a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and builds a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Designing project components using Civil 3D and other industry-standard tools.
  • Performing engineering calculations and solving real-world challenges.
  • Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.
  • Developing cost estimates and managing project budgets.
  • Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Leading and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Active P.E. license in Virginia, and/or one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business (or ability to obtain).
  • 6-10 years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on land development.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules simultaneously.
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant design software.

Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $90,000-$140,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
