Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the companyโ€™s strategic vision and growth initiatives.
  • Support executive leadership in corporate decision-making and strategic planning efforts.
  • Partner with senior leadership to implement operational and business development strategies across divisions and markets.
  • Develop, manage, and report on business development strategies and goals to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Drive business growth and profitability through strategic relationship development and opportunity management.
  • Lead and develop interview and presentation strategies; coach and direct teams to effectively pursue and win work.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and identify emerging trends and opportunities within the AEC industry.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the companyโ€™s services, markets, competitors, and target clients.
  • Generate leads and identify opportunities through industry relationships, networking, research, and strategic outreach.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and association meetings to strengthen relationships with owners, architects, engineers, developers, trade partners, and community leaders.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to ensure effective promotional, branding, and communication strategies.
  • Manage departmental resources and budgets in alignment with company policies and operational goals.
  • Foster and maintain a positive organizational culture that reflects the companyโ€™s values and reputation in the marketplace.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing business development and marketing team.
Qualifications / Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5โ€“7 years of experience in business development, marketing, public relations, or related leadership roles within the AEC industry.
  • Strong understanding of general business principles, strategic planning, and the construction industry landscape.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client and industry relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and interview leadership abilities.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Strong analytical thinking, initiative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and web-based applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently throughout the territory and participate in industry events before and after standard business hours.
