The KPFF Industrial Group is hiring! We are a group focused on project leadership who work directly with high profile, nationwide clients, who are driving innovation in the US economy. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead multi-discipline design teams in the Industrial Group at our downtown Seattle office location. The type and scope of the projects vary but typically involve manufacturing facilities and related infrastructure locally and across the country.  

In this role, you will play the pivotal role of Project Manager; collaborating with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to drive the successful delivery of industrial projects for private-sector clients. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring projects are executed within scope, schedule, and budget, while also contributing to the growth and efficiency of the team. 

The ability to establish and maintain key relationships and build trust with KPFF staff, clients, and subconsultants is vital to success in this position.We are committed to developing our staff and providing opportunities to pursue their passions in a supportive business environment.  

We are seeking a self-driven and proactive team leader who can effectively undertake a diverse range of responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of projects and the delivery of client and subconsultant deliverables. The ideal candidate will be adept at confidently handling tasks similar in nature to the following 

Responsibilities:

Project Leadership and Management: 

  • Lead and manage all phases of project delivery, from initial schematic design through construction support and project closeout. 
  • Lead multi-disciplinary design teams to establish project goals, objectives, and deliverables. 
  • Develop and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules. 
  • Monitor project progress and identify and mitigate risks. 
  • Oversee and manage the QA/QC processes related to project submissions. 
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality projects within scope and budget constraints. 

Client Engagement and Relationship Building: 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the main point of contact. 
  • Lead project meetings with team members and clients. 
  • Understand client needs and objectives and align project strategies accordingly. 
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and solutions effectively to clients. 
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and client satisfaction. 

Financial Management: 

  • Oversee project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial performance. 
  • Review and approve change orders, amendments, and project expenditures. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and billing to clients. 

Team Collaboration and Leadership: 

  • Foster a positive workplace culture within the Industrial Group. 
  • Collaborate with project teams and provide leadership and guidance. 
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members. 
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and process improvements. 

Strategic Planning and Business Development: 

  • Assist in developing business strategies and identifying growth opportunities. 
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and potential clients. 
  • Collaborate with leadership to create and execute business development initiatives. 
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, architecture, or a related field. 
    • At least 5 years of experience in engineering or architectural design, project management, construction management, or a combination of relevant experience.  
    • Understanding of complex projects integrating architecture, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Project. 
    • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills. 
    • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with team members, clients, and subconsultants. 

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Proven experience in project management. 
    • Strong understanding of project finance and budgeting. 
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools. 
    • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus. 
      Additional Information

      Physical Demands:

      • Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.
      • Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
      • Occasionally visiting project and construction sites may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
      • Traveling to project sites or client meetings, which may involve driving or flying.

      Compensation:

      The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate is $90,000 - $140,000 annually.
