SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Project Engineer position performs a variety of engineering duties including field inspection, material testing, evaluation, analysis, design, and technical document preparation under the direction of a higher-level engineer. To fulfill these obligations, Project Engineers must be able to conduct assigned engineering work in compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and internal procedures and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs field inspection and evaluation of structures under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Performs testing of materials and incorporates results into reports under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Prepares comprehensive engineering documents including inspection reports, design plans, and specifications under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Actively participates in internal project meetings and works to actively resolve project issues.
  • Actively promotes a safe work culture.

  • Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in area of practice.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
