Position Summary

Summit Line Construction is seeking a Project Controls Manager to support and lead scheduling efforts across the organization. This role will play a critical part in both the pre-construction (bid) phase and execution (construction) phase of projects, ensuring schedules are accurate, aligned, and proactively managed.

This individual will serve as a centralized resource and will be responsible for building, standardizing, and ultimately leading a growing scheduling function. The ideal candidate brings deep technical scheduling expertise along with strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules across multiple projects
  • Support estimating and preconstruction teams during bid development with schedule input and analysis
  • Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure schedules are aligned with project execution plans
  • Identify schedule risks and opportunities; provide mitigation strategies
  • Standardize scheduling practices, tools, reporting processes and update frequencies across the organization
  • Perform manpower loading of direct and indirect labor and level resources to establish accurate “S” curves
  • Build custom reports in Primavera P6 to support productivity tracking and earned value (EV) analysis on a real time basis
  • Support standardization of WBS structures in collaboration with project controls and estimating teams
  • Develop systems for reporting unit rate performance back to estimating throughout the project lifecycle
  • Incorporate commodity tracking into schedules and/or reporting tools
  • Develop a system for managing project staffing across active and pending projects
  • Lead and mentor a developing team of schedulers as the function grows
  • Provide regular schedule updates, reporting, and insights to project and executive leadership

· Support claims, change management, and schedule-related documentation as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in project scheduling within construction, utilities, or infrastructure
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred; MS Project a plus)
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path methodology (CPM), and resource planning
  • Proven ability to work across multiple projects and teams
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in transmission, distribution, or power infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with large-scale EPC or utility projects
