About the Job

The Accounting & Tax Intern supports the accounting team with day-to-day activities related to general ledger processes, tax compliance, and financial reporting. This role is designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities while assisting the team in maintaining accurate financial records and meeting compliance requirements. The intern works under close guidance and contributes to foundational tasks that enhance overall team efficiency.

Internship Details

  • Start Date: June 1, 2026

  • Length of Internship: 3 months
  • Monday - Friday: 40 hours per week (summer), part time during Fall

  • Compensation: $25 per hour (set rate)

  • Location: Austin, TX or San Francisco Bay Area, CA 

Internship Process

  • 25-minute - Talent Acquisition Screen

  • 30-minute - Hiring Manager Screen

  • 30-minute - Final Interview | Team Member(s) Interview

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation and organization of local and state tax filings, including gathering supporting documentation and performing basic data entry.
    Support general ledger account reconciliations by preparing schedules, tying out balances, and identifying variances for review.
  • Help maintain documentation for internal and external compliance requirements, including audits and regulatory filings.
  • Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Assist in organizing and improving documentation and processes to support audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with team members on ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and internal controls.
  • Provide exposure to core accounting and tax processes
  • Build foundational skills in reconciliation, compliance, and financial analysis.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance from experienced team members.
  • Enable the intern to contribute in a way that supports-rather than replaces-existing
    team responsibilities.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (preferred)
  • Positive attitude with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Eagerness to learn, take on new responsibilities, and support the team as needed
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
