Job Summary/Purpose:
Manager, Project Controls is capable of supporting a multi-billion dollar portfolio for New Generation Capital Projects; overseeing the integration of cost, schedule, work breakdown structure (WBS), and risk management aligned with Entergy's stage gate process. This role provides strategic guidance and expert support throughout the project lifecycle, partnering closely with project teams, business units, and contractor project control representatives to achieve financial, technical, and performance objectives. The manager delivers oversight, coaching, and training to project controls personnel, promotes consistent application of best practices, and drives information quality. Through strong technical and commercial insight, the role ensures projects are executed safely and efficiently while meeting organizational goals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage, support and develop a team of project control managers (PCM) and project control schedulers in Entergy's project controls and management standards/ implementation process within a matrix organization supporting Capital Projects execution team.
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of integrated master schedules using CPM and Acumen Fuse. Review and publish monthly reporting models in respect to SPI and baseline variance analysis.
  • Oversee cost control activities including accrual forecasting, earned value (CPI) analysis, estimate at completion (EAC), estimate to complete (ETC) and change management monthly reporting.
  • Collaborate with project teams to manage risk registers, develop mitigation plans, administer the change management process, track approved project changes, and maintain accurate contingency analysis documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with EPC contractors, various vendors, consultants, project teams and internal stakeholders to validate cost, schedule, and risk to ensure contract adherence and the production of quality reporting models which accurately support current project performance.
  • Identifies gaps in Entergy's project control environment and takes proactive steps to implement improvements and strengthen controls.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 7 years of Mega Project Experience (upwards $500M), Major Capital Project (project execution) experience and/or some experience leading a multi-billion-dollar portfolio.
  • Preferred: experience in both Owner and Contractor roles.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:
  • Expert knowledge of the fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
    • Primavera P6
    • Monte Carlo simulations (such as Crystal Ball)
    • Acumen Fuse
    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software
  • Superior skills in Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Excel
  • Moderate knowledge of Power BI
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
