Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a highly motivated Project Controls Manager to join our project controls team in Ontario, Canada. We are looking for highly self-motivated candidates with strong Project Controls credentials and a passion for client service, and who enjoy working as part of a high energy team on cutting-edge programs supporting a wide range of engineering, design, and construction projects for our clients.

Please note this role may be based in various locations throughout Ontario, with travel to the project sites in Port Hope and Eastern Ontario as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • A working Manager capable of leading a project team of Project Controls professionals in project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, performance measurement, risk management, and reporting
  • Develop WBS and project cost coding structures
  • Proficiency in utilizing industry "best in class" project management systems and tools to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts
  • Develop and maintain cost loaded or resource loaded schedules using critical path methodology
  • Conduct project performance analysis using industry standard earned value management processes and techniques
  • Support project controls reporting requirements for weekly and monthly status reporting
  • Maintain project budgets and forecast spending plans
  • Prepare labor and subcontractor commitment analysis reports
  • Prepare program and project cash flow analysis
  • Provide support for proposals and project change requests to include schedule development, estimate development, pricing proposals, and client negotiations
  • Administrative and document control support for project related documents 
Skills / Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of project controls/cost-schedule experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite of applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in meeting detailed deliverables with a high level of accuracy
  • Adaptability and willingness to adjust to internal and external client needs
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours if required
  • Must be willing to travel when required to support critical project needs

Preferred

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field
  • Construction/field experience a plus
  • Proficiency in use of Ares Prism Cost Management to include schedule integration and change management desired
  • Formal professional certification (PMI, AACE, etc.) a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a Project Controls team
