Job description

We are seeking a Quality Control Engineer III to join our Information Systems. In this opportunity, you will dive into our core systems-including our vital IRIS platform-to champion the accuracy, reliability, and sheer excellence of complex technology solutions. The person filling this role will be required to work in a hybrid work environment adjacent to one of our offices in Oakland, CA; Orange, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; Boston, MA; or Chicago, IL

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, execute, andย maintainย manual and automated test approaches for software features, workflows, and integrated systemsย 
  • Develop and enhanceย automated testing frameworks and CI/CD quality integrations to improve reliability and scalabilityย 
  • Designย and applyย test approachesย for assigned projectsย across functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testingย 
  • Improveย andย monitorย quality metricsย for assigned projectsย to evaluate test effectiveness, defect trends, and coverageย 
  • Partner withย engineering teams toย integrateย testing practices into development, deployment, and release workflowsย 
  • Develop,ย maintain, and executeย automated test suites using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, orย Pytestย 
  • Write and improveย automated UI tests based on prior automation experience and team practicesย 
  • Performย hands-on testing across assigned systems and projects toย identifyย defects,ย validateย functionality, and reduce delivery riskย 
  • Conductย root cause analysis on recurring issues andย supportย preventive actions to reduce defect recurrenceย 
  • Supportย quality gate adherence within CI/CD processes and release workflowsย 
  • Applyย testing practicesย thatย align with expectations related to privacy, security, accessibility, and quality standardsย 
  • Serve asย a peer mentor and trainer to Quality Control Engineers I and II by sharingย expertiseย and guiding testing practicesย 
  • Evaluate and adoptย new tools, automation techniques, and testing frameworks that improve efficiency and coverageย 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent technical experienceย 
  • Sixย years of experienceย testing software products in a professional settingย 
  • Demonstrated experienceย designing, developing, and executingย test automation and quality assurance practices within complex software environmentsย 
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and CI/CD environments toย support reliable, efficient, and scalable software deliveryย 
  • Proficiencyย withย test automation tools and frameworksย (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright,ย Pytest, or similar)ย 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability toย clearly communicateย technical findings, testing outcomes, and quality risks to crossfunctional stakeholdersย 
  • Proficiencyย in test automation and programming, with the ability toย design, write, andย maintainย automated test cases (including UI tests) and supporting frameworksย 
  • Ability toย analyze system behavior,ย identifyย defects, and resolve complex testing issues independentlyย once familiar with the system and product landscapeย 
  • Ability toย influence testing approaches and quality decisionsย by providing informed input on coverage, prioritization, and test strategyย 
  • Demonstrated ability toย evaluate and adopt new testing tools and technologiesย to improve testing effectiveness and efficiencyย

The salary range for this role is $108,000-$125,000, with a target compensation of $108,000 - $118,000 based on experience and qualifications.
