Job description

Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Controller to join our Strategic Project Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will support a large electric utility client in the Pacific Northwestern US. This is an in-office position based out of either Portland, Bend or Medford, OR, depending on the location of the selected candidate. As the project controller, You'll play a key role in driving creative Project Management Solutions for Leidos' utility client, working closely with Telecommunications and SCADA Project Managers to create and maintain project forecasts, track project materials, complete project accruals, track project spends and financials and be an integral member of the client's project delivery team.

This role will have a targeted focus on supporting our client Telecommunications/ SCADA Project Management Office (PMO) team. Key Responsibilities willl include:

  • Developing, monitoring and maintaining engineering and construction project budgets for various sized projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
  • Work with Project Management teams using earned value management techniques to ensure that forecasts and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, Managers, and other client stakeholders to track and execute client deliverables
  • Supporting project teams with material tracking
  • Develop and produce schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review: which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk analysis
  • Interfacing directly with the client on a daily basis to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electric utility projects
  • Assist project managers with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking
  • Review, interpret, and provide inputs to project schedules and identify risks

Required Qualifications:

  • Mid-Level: 4-7 years of relevant projet controls experience
  • Senior-Level: 7-10 years of relevant projet controls experience(Pay ranges will be commensurate with candidate experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required
  • Demonstrated experience managing and reporting project financial performance, budgets and cost controls
  • Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
  • Experience working with US electric utilites
  • Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business
