About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimating & Cost Control Analyst to support capital projects across Nevada. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring projects are accurately estimated, tightly controlled, and financially transparent from early planning through execution.
You'll work closely with project teams, EPCM partners, and site stakeholders to develop capital cost estimates, manage budgets and forecasts, track performance, and proactively identify and mitigate cost risks. This is a high-impact role for a detail-driven professional who enjoys translating complex data into actionable insights for project and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimating & Budgeting
  • Develop and manage capital cost estimates and budgets across all project phases.
  • Ensure estimates meet established governance and classification standards.
  • Maintain the Basis of Estimate and estimate plans in collaboration with EPCM partners and internal teams.
  • Apply appropriate contingency levels based on scope maturity, design detail, and risk profile.

Cost Control & Forecasting
  • Track project costs, cash flow, commitments, and forecasts against approved budgets.
  • Identify cost trends, variances, and emerging risks; recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate financial impacts of scope changes, trends, and claims, and ensure timely incorporation into forecasts and reporting tools.
  • Implement and maintain cost control frameworks, including WBS structures and cost coding, aligned with project schedules.

Reporting & Governance
  • Produce accurate, timely cost reports including variance analysis, cash flow forecasts, and executive-level summaries.
  • Support and/or lead internal and external audits related to project costs and controls.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to enhance cost visibility and decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with business units, mine sites, and project teams to gather accurate cost and schedule data.
  • Influence stakeholders to meet reporting timelines and maintain data integrity.
  • Establish and support communication and stakeholder management plans across a portfolio of projects.

What You Bring
Experience & Education
  • 7-10+ years of experience in estimating, cost control, or project cost management, ideally within mining, heavy industrial, or process industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree and/or CPA/CMA certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations and capital project execution.

Technical Skills
  • Proven experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Experience building and maintaining project dashboards using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with industry-recognized project management and cost control best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify key cost drivers.
