This is a critical leadership role for someone who can confidently navigate the complexity of multi-million dollar vertical builds while inspiring teams to deliver results with excellence and efficiency.
As a senior leader in the Vertical Division, you'll manage complex ground-up commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects-from preconstruction through closeout. You'll drive strategic execution, lead cross-functional teams, and serve as the key liaison between clients, internal stakeholders, and field operations. Whether it's budget ownership, schedule integrity, or client satisfaction-you're accountable for delivering outcomes that reflect Alpha's high standards.
The ideal candidate is a proactive builder, a sharp communicator, and a mentor at heart. If you lead with clarity, thrive in collaborative environments, and see complexity as an opportunity to excel-you'll find your momentum here.
About Alpha Inc.
At Alpha Inc., we are dedicated to building Hawaii's future through excellence in heavy civil construction, water well drilling, renewable energy, and concrete services. As a locally owned and operated company, we take pride in delivering high-impact projects that serve our communities for generations.
We live by three core values that shape how we work and lead:
  • Strength in Unity - Fostering trust and collaboration to achieve collective success.
  • Lead with Heart - Approaching every endeavor with humility, empathy, and respect.
  • Alpha Mentality - Demonstrating grit, accountability, and a relentless drive to excel.

Join us in shaping what's next - with purpose, pride, and the Alpha mindset.
What You Will Do
Lead and Deliver Complex Vertical Projects
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of high-stakes vertical construction projects-from precon to punchlist.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing with precision to deliver on scope, time, and profitability.

Mentor and Guide Project Teams
  • Provide direction and mentorship to project managers, engineers, and field staff.
  • Build team alignment and instill accountability through real-time coaching and clear expectations.

Ensure Operational and Client Excellence
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and senior leadership throughout project lifecycles.
  • Review and approve RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost forecasts to maintain project control.

Coordinate, Communicate, and Comply
  • Lead coordination with designers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution.
  • Conduct risk assessments, monitor safety performance, and ensure compliance with building codes and company policies.

Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support strategic initiatives and contribute to business development within the Vertical Division.

What You Bring
  • 8-10+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial, institutional, or mixed-use vertical construction projects.
  • At least 5 years of team leadership in project management roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong command of project budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and risk mitigation.
  • Proven track record of client-facing leadership and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in project management platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP or equivalent certification (preferred).

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience working in Hawaii or other island-based project environments.
  • Familiarity with software such as Procore, HCSS, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of union workforce coordination or public works construction.

Why Alpha?
Because this is not just another superintendent seat.
