General Purpose of Job

The Associate Project Manager, Creative Marketing, is a client-facing role that operates as a staff extension for a major national retailer. This position works day-to-day alongside the client and their internal marketing teams, coordinating creative marketing projects from intake through delivery, translating client objectives into actionable plans, and managing workflows across creative, production, and execution teams. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, creative fluency, and the ability to navigate the pace and complexity of a high-volume retail marketing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with client partners
  • Maintain ongoing communication via email, meetings, calls, and in-person collaboration to ensure clarity on objectives, expectations, and timelines
  • Support the execution of integrated retail marketing projects, including print, digital, video, direct mail, circulars
  • Track project progress against aligned plans, workflows, timelines, and task lists, ensuring milestones and approvals are met
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while adapting quickly to changing priorities
  • Traffic projects to ensure efficient workflows and timely approvals
  • Collaborate closely with support teams to ensure execution aligns with brand standards and campaign goals
  • Collect, document, and clearly communicate project specifications to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Proof and review creative materials to ensure accuracy, brand consistency, and adherence to specifications prior to client review
  • Maintain project details, approvals, and status updates within internal project tracking systems

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in creative project coordination, account services, or marketing operations
  • Experience working with retail brands, agencies, or in-house marketing teams strongly preferred
  • Exposure to high-volume, deadline-driven marketing environments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of creative workflows and marketing execution across print, digital, and in-store channels
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting tight deadlines
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; 
  • Working knowledge of industry project management tools
  • Ability to learn proprietary project management systems quickly
  • Knowledge of Adobe creative suite is a plus
  • Strong time-management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
