Are you a detail-oriented engineering professional ready to make an impact on diverse construction projects across higher education, healthcare, and public sectors?

MBP is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team and provide on-site project support across a range of pre-construction and construction assignments. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with a background in public or institutional projects who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

What You'll Do:

As a Project Engineer, you will serve as an on-site representative of the client, applying your engineering knowledge to support project planning and execution. You will independently apply technical methods and analytical techniques to solve problems, working closely with project team leaders to deliver high-quality results. Your role will involve managing periodic fluctuations in workload while maintaining the quality and timeliness of all deliverables.


Responsibilities include:

· Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, schedules, plan reviews, and research of project records

· Review project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time

· Independently apply techniques and analyze problems and methods to support project objectives

· Monitor the quality and timeliness of deliverables throughout periodic fluctuations in workload

· Participate in MBP-provided training, company activities, and administrative duties

· Perform other duties as assigned

Who We Are Looking For

Experience:

· Higher education, laboratory, healthcare, K-12 school, federal, state, or municipal public project sectors

· Pre-construction and construction project support in an on-site environment preferred

· Higher education/academic laboratory facilities preferred


Education/Knowledge:

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; degrees in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred

· Local licensing regulations may prohibit use of the Engineer title without the individual possessing a Professional License; in those cases, the Consultant title shall be used until a Professional License is obtained

· Engineering principles of construction management and project controls

· One or more of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructability and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs

· Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications

· Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

· Electronic Project Management information, controls, and reporting management system platforms preferred

Preferred Certifications:

· Fundamentals of Engineering/Engineer in Training (FE/EIT) preferred

· OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

Skills and Abilities:

· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Bluebeam, and CADD

· Readiness to engage in MBP-provided training and grasp of current relevant electronic project management tools, systems, and platforms

· Develop, track, maintain, and communicate project controls and reporting work product within MBP's project management and reporting framework

· Work within a project team to complete project assignments

· Execute tasks independently

· Obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned

· Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports

· Maintain records and prepare reports/correspondence related to the work

· Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

· Develop innovative, creative solutions to problems while utilizing analytical skills

· Deeply focus on the details of an assignment and summarize findings for presentation to the project team leader

· Listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

· Effectively communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing

· Positively represent MBP within and outside of the workplace by acting with integrity in interpersonal interactions

· Stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions

· Safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain

Guidance/Responsibility:

· Reports to Area Manager in collaboration with Practice or Service Line Leaders

Supervisory:

· May supervise Team Members in technical/administrative roles

The base salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $85,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, qualifications, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
