Our people division is growing, and we are seeking a Project Controller - Cost Control to join our Fourmile Project team. This role monitors, controls, and reports the financial performance of mining projects, ensuring delivery within budget through accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and analyses. The ideal candidate combines strong financial skills with mining project experience and a proactive approach to cost management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update project budgets, forecasts, and cost control plans in alignment with project scope and schedule.
  • Monitor project costs, track variances, and provide detailed financial reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure timely collection and validation of cost data.
  • Perform cost risk analysis, trend forecasting, and scenario modeling to support project decisions.
  • Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and other project-related expenditures.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reports for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements.
  • Assist in audits and financial reviews related to project costs.
  • Other duties as required 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field required
  • 5-10 years of experience in project controls, cost control, or financial management within the mining or heavy industrial sectors preferred
  • Strong understanding of mining project cost structures, budgeting, and financial reporting required
  • Proficiency in project controls software (e.g., SAP, Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent) required
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams required
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment preferred
