The role is based in our Salt Lake City Office and will enjoy our hybrid working model. Expected domestic travel is 10-15%.

What is the role?
  • Perform the detailed engineering and technical design aspects within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of process, mechanical, 2D and potentially 3D drafting and modeling, electrical, controls, and operations for the development and commercialization of effective and safe products for the treatment of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, internal and 3rd party, with Ovivo's local and remote project teams (i.e. Process, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, PM, Procurement).
  • Read, understand and create technical specifications as well as 2D General Arrangement and Process Drawings (e.g. PFD, P&ID).
  • Prepare and develop engineering computations, bill of material takeoffs, and resource allocation estimates for project management and Sales team support.
  • Complete a variety of project assignments, such as design drawing and technical specification reviews, technical document generation, materials procurement.
  • Engage in development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, etc.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other project design detail documents.
  • Participate in functionality design reviews across all aspects of a project.
  • Assist manufacturing and factory testing of projects (i.e. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), which may result in travel).
  • Advise project engineers, project managers and/ or other managers on project status.
  • Assist in the development of new company standards and specifications.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance tests and ensures designs are compliant with the clients' technical requirements and budget(s).
  • Be Client and Supplier/Vendor facing for project support and technical clarifications.
Does this sound like you?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 7+ years of overall mechanical engineering design and development experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years of 2D CAD experience (preferred).
  • Strong experience with mechanical system design, assemblies, and fabrication.
  • Design experience with a variety of materials (i.e. plastics, steel, aluminum) and basic knowledge of material specs and use.
  • Ability to conduct basic analysis using DFMEA, FEA, and hand calculations.
  • Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems (preferred).
  • Experience Plastic/PVC piping systems and plastic fabrication (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - including technical writing.
  • Interest in supporting and building a developing engineering team.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in both autonomously and team environments.
  • Strong desire to continue to learn and develop technical expertise.
